Understanable. It is Ice Age after all and this is probably their best attempt at a good family film.


Why do people suddenly want somone else to fail miserably? I didn't like the movie that much, but does that warrant me to say that I want Bay to fail miserably? I can understand with a FoX movie (ie. Wolverine) or with Chris Kornell (ie. Scream ===> Get Soundgarden back together) but come on, thats just disrespectful.

Bay disrespected the audience first by directing a bad movie and expecting it to break records...I'm personally tired of Hollywood spending millions on bad movies instead of spending millions on good ones...I know that people thought TDK was overrated, but that movie for me was an example of what a big studio SHOULD produce instead the stuff they ACTUALLY do

When you have a movie like Ice Age (family movie with 2 successful previous entries) come out, of course it's going to take a chunk out of the box office of another movie that shares part of that demographic.

Money aside, a lot of people just aren't going to see multiple movies in a weekend.

Well, I will say that it's pretty impressive that ROTF even TIED for a second-week top movie. Someone else in here had a point in saying that the two movies pretty much had the same type of audience.

I'm still kind of hopeful that ROTF may be able to top TDK.

You missed the point. The point was that it lost HUGE amounts of money during its second week and to fall to a virtual tie with Ice Age 3 (a movie that features a HUGE plot hole with dinosaurs during the ICE AGE) speaks volumes. If you liked the movie, fine...but the FACT is most people didnt

Ice Age 3 was an Awesome movie. No matter for the plot hole for the Dinosaurs but it was show that they are underground with a "Journey to the centre of the earth" type settling.

Glad both movies are getting the money they deserve.

First off, Transformers 2 has a 91% positive review rate according to exit polls done around the world. It's just over $100mil from the TOTAL box office of the first film after just 13 days. It WILL break the billion mark.

Second, who gives a damn about dinosaurs being in the ice age in a freaking CGI animated kids film? Kids love the franchise so to not think it would make money is lunacy and ignorance.

Third, just go back to lurking and not talking. It would be safer.

I mean honestly did anyone expect anything other? Ice Age has a huge draw for kids and adults alike, plus 3d helps, not to mention most adults went to Public Enemies 26 million ,so that i to be considered also since it was a rated R film...

I don't expect and didn't expect transformers to hold up against Harry Potter, and with another week to go until Harry Potter, transformers will have made a solid run. Only movies i saw for this year even making serious money was Harry Potter and Transformers (as far as Summer goes)

but there is no way bruno gets number 1 next week... I say Ice Age may slim up next week with about 28 mill

I didn't even bother with it. The tralier was more than enough for me. But still that POS managed to make $128,505,958 Domestic and $261,572,744 worldwide as well as won the 2007 Golden Globe Award for Best Actor: Musical or Comedy, as Borat, while the film was nominated for Best Motion Picture in the same category. Borat was also nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay at the 79th Academy Awards.

First off, Transformers 2 has a 91% positive review rate according to exit polls done around the world. It's just over $100mil from the TOTAL box office of the first film after just 13 days. It WILL break the billion mark.

Second, who gives a damn about dinosaurs being in the ice age in a freaking CGI animated kids film? Kids love the franchise so to not think it would make money is lunacy and ignorance.

Third, just go back to lurking and not talking. It would be safer.
