This Calls For a 'Twisted Metal' Movie

'Death Race'. What is it about?

Inmates forced into a sport, driving cars, killing each other to victory.

Sounds a lot like "Twisted Metal" to me.

If filmmakers can make this film. Then I think it's safe to say it's possible to have a 'Twisted Metal' movie on the big screen.

Think about it. Video games have been on the big screen since 'Super Mario Bros.'

'Hitman' had it's movie this year. 'Far Cry', 'Max Payne' and possibly 'Halo' are about to have their movies.

Yes, most of them are failures due to Uwe Boll or Hollywood; but I think it's time we have this game have its own movie.

Also, look at Heath Ledger's Joker. Doesn't he kind of remind you of Sweet Tooth. A psycho-path dressed like a clown with an insane laugh of killing.

Yea this remake of the cult classic is more like a different story just with the death race title. I was thinkin more like full atuo, or carmeggedon.

I was thinking the exact same thing when I saw the trailer on TV yesterday. A Twisted Metal movie would be SO SICK!

how do you come out with a movie, however, that:

A: Doesn't seem like its mimicing the Joker

B: Doesnt seem like a rip-off of Death Race?

you just have to wait like 10 years, i believe.

And the only way to make it work, is to make it Both Extrememly Funny, and extremely Violent to the point where its so absurd its Comical...
IMHO, what made the games so enjoyable, was that the action scenarios are virtually ENDLESS. Most of the time, battles you get into are so Flippin cool and exagerated/over the top that you cant help but bust a gut!!

No other video game i can think of is as much FUN as Twisted Metal and the only way it will "work" is if the filmmakers have an uncommon/unpredictable/un
matched sense-of-humor.

(its why Jason Statham sucks, NO SENSE OF HUMOR)

sorry dude Twisted Metal movie is not a good idea and Heath Ledger's Joker is a tribute to classic cinematic pschyos aka A Clockwork Orange, not a blinking image of some creepy clown from an overrated video game

When I saw the previews I was thinking "how come Hollywood hasn't made a Twisted Metal movie yet?"

This movie looks like it's gonna be hardcore. I'm tired of all these types of films getting PG-13 ratings. So I'm gonna see it.

Wachowski Bros. would be great for Twisted Metal.
Just look how they handled Speed Racer..say what you want, but that movie didn't stop.
I'm not comparing the visuals, just the way they can handle many characters, can balance drama/comedy and compose killer action sequences.
