I bet it's that "BAD."

This franchise deserved to be putdown with that last installment.

Oh, come now, sir. Surely the convolution of events in the fourth instalment is merely a play of artistic indulgence to challenge the mind as the story is followed through quite adequately into the fifth and sixth incarnations of the franchise.

Another Saw movie? Is it really even necessary?

While the "Saw" films are getting weaker with each film (although III was an improvment over II) what is great about them is the attention to detail, and the flow of the story. They're not just random plots like other horror films. I love how they're all connected and the films are essentially one big story.

Hopefully the precipitate forms as eloquently as you describe it.

"I seek faith in the unfaithful just as you seek peace and atonement in a war-torn world."

"The common wit is not fair to middling."

"Laugh at me all you want, one day you'll all be kissing my feet."

"Young age is no excuse for poor taste."

"To be a prep is to be blissfully unaware of one's own mediocrity."

This franchise is just a wet dream for Hollywood execs. They can make millions year after year just by selling off shoddy screenplays and amping up the gore. Granted, if this movie actually is good, I'll eat my words, but I think this is just turning into a stereotype of easy money.

WTG Capt. Obvious. That's why so many sequels were greenlit. Each film costs less than $10 million, and each made huge bank considering their costs. I mean just look at the numbers...

Saw
Production Budget: $1.2 Million
Worldwide Gross: $103 Million

Saw II
Production Budget: $4 Million
Worldwide Gross: $147 Million

Saw III
Production Budget: $10 Million
Worldwide Gross: $164 Million

Saw IV
Production Budget: $10 Million
Worldwide Gross: $139 Million

All four films have been made for a combined $25.2 million, and together have brought in $553 million. These films bring in HUGE coin for the studio so you're damn right it's easy money.

If you kept each subsequent sequel at $10 million each then the studios could use all that huge profit and greenlight 55 Saw films. So long as the costs stay low, and the profits high we'll be having a Saw film every year.

Will you kindly pass me the grey poupon?

With the mind numbing ferocity that this movie was put together I really have my doubts with the rest of the franchise. That last one burns my eyes when I watch it. Like ammonia.

Its a shame the franchise has now become a tool of greedy execs because I really liked the first one. I thought it was one of the most psychologically disturbing horror films i'd ever seen but now the writers just put all their imagination into making the traps increasingly gory and less interesting.

Thanks for the numbers. I only made the comment off the fact that a number of people here are still excited for another one. I wanted them to realize that they're walking into a trap.

i believe there will be saw 5 coz the last part shows that jigsaw is going to play a game with the one i think is the master mind of all this the detective. come to think of it the first person tested is the guy who manages to get out of the chair by pushing his face against the knives....second is amanda who also manages to get out alive n became the apprentice of jigsaw...third is the doc n the photography guy....fourth is the fat guy who got stuck in the barewire....fifth the guy who got in flameable substance covering his body n got burned to death....fifth is daniel.....sixth is daniel's father....7th isthe guy who got exploded 8th is kerry the female cop who is very sad about matthew's disapperence....maybe the two guy who got sewed in the eyes n mouth no idea when they got tested but one things for sure that guy with the sewed mouth helped out the last test for rigg....9th is the guy who's son got killed in an accident.....n this time rigg also got tested n amanda got tested too.....but one thing i dun get it is how come that detective is the one of them n after jigsaw is autospy the tape he heard says that jigsaw gonna play a game with him but if like that then he wont appeared on the part where jigsaw is been cut...what if that detective is the first person who started all this....what if he is the one who recruited jigsaw n used him to create tools for him to test others, it explains it all but at the end y jigsaw wants to play a game with him? if that could be answed then i no who the first master mind is...
