Okay, wow. Just... wow.
Seriously. There are no words for what Mr. Ratner just said.
I really want to see Bryan Singer return and direct a fourth "X-Men" film that corrects many of the atrocities that Mr. Ratner, Mr. Kinberg, Mr. Penn, Mr. Rothman, Fox, Marvel, and others had committed. But I doubt we'll get that any time soon, since we've got more dumb spin-off character and existing character prequels to look forward to.
Um... when does Fox lose the film rights to X-Men again? Disney and Marvel should get the rights back to this franchise... immediately.
And with all due respect, because I genuinely like some of Mr. Ratner's films, I really, really, d**n REALLY hope he never directs another "X-Men" film. Ever.
Ever.
Thanks for reading,

Not to take a different opinion, but I actually agree with him on the most part for what he said about comic book fans.
I'm absolutely biased towards X-men, I've never liked it at all, but I did manage to go out and see the films albeit because Ray Park was in the first one, and someone paid for my ticket on the second and third ones. (I try to own on the Park films). Comic Book fans suck. Gambit Sucks. Just because you think your favorite character deserves the spotlight, doesn't mean it actually works. Gambit is the best example I can think of, he wasn't one of the original x-men and was defiantly a dead-weight in the Wolverine film. I think this goes pretty much for any comic book-to-movie franchise, comic book fans pick apart at everything. Rattner and Singer had the right ideas; Don't read into what the fans want, they don't know what they want.
also, Rattner's film did make significant profit that led to the green light on the spinoffs. He did keep the franchise alive, but you know...it was a really bad film... CLICK HERE AND JOIN THE GL CORPS!!!

JHBLADER05 said: The NEW Harry Pothead said: I agree with Ratner too. He does not lie at any point in that interview. I've always said I don't blame Ratner for X-3. I don't. That movie was doomed before he got there.
Exactly!
TWO directors quit, the original screenwriters left, the release date was getting closer, so FOX in all of its infinite wisdom hired that hack Zak Penn, and then brought in Ratner to just helm it and get it out.
I actually think Ratner could make a decent film if given the real opportunity, but since he was the director people had to put the blame on someone.
Absolutely!
The film was doomed because the way Singer started the franchise. Ratner wasn't given enough time to actually make a film. He was stuck within the confines that Fox had set and wouldn't budge from. So we got a short film with characters that should have been in from the beginning, action that was missing from the beginning, but not enough development and a poor excuse for a Phoenix considering the CGI tech out there when it was made.
I blame it all on Fox. Did Ratner ruin Wolverine too?? No. Fox did.

KJB said: People say that, "at least he brought us the war room," negating the FACT that Singer wanted the war room from the very beginning, but FOX was unwilling to pay for it. Ratner, is a hypocrite, nothing more.
Yep. Singer even wanted Beast & Blob for part 1, but no FOX wouldn't give him enough to use the 2. He wanted the Sentinels, Danger Room, Beast, etc. for part 2. And FOX still said no to giving him more money. Thus, Singer did more good than what Ratner & FOX did with part 3.
And since when X-Men franchise was in danger when Singer did the first 2 by the way? If that was true, there would've never been a part 3 at all. Or even part 2 too. Period. Singer help start the franchise & keep it rolling smoothly, while part 3 ruin it. ~The One True Tarheels X-Stud
