OK...
So you sons of BITCHES have NOTHING to complain about.
I can't believe I even let some of you morons sway my belief that this movie could even possibly be good.
JEEZUZ...
Once again, I am continually reminded that most people that post on CD have no higher brain functions whatsoever to speak of.
First off, this movie is a VAST improvement on the first. Which is and isn't saying much. I liked the first. Was it great? No. But it was good.
And here we have a movie that I hold up as one of the BEST comic book movies ever made.
That's right, I said that.
It's GOOD!!!
The only problem I see that is left over from the first movie is the casting of Jessica Alba as Sue Storm. Don't get me wrong, she's sexy as all hell, and she tries her hardest, but she's no Sue Storm. And it isn't an acting thing, because she's a good actress, it's just a physicality thing. She doesn't pull off the pale blonde look AT ALL.
But beyond that, I have no problem with this movie except the ending, which isn't really a problem as long as the promise of the third movie holds true.
There IS a hint of machination within the clouds that are formed around a planet's destruction. And there IS a hint of Galactus' helm within the areas that a "he" is directed towards.
Why would the Surfer call Galactus a "he" if they didn't intend to show him as a male alien lifeform and expand upon his form from this movie in the next?
I got the impression from the end, what with Venice sinking and all, that they were going to continue the story.
I will admit that Surfer does NOT repel Galactus, but it looks like he DESTROYS him, which is retarded and absolutely impossible, but we'll see...
If FF3 comes out and has nothing to do with Galactus, than I will be sorely disappointed and FF2 will be shite to me. But if the promise that this movie holds, and Galactus is the focus for the next one becomes reality, than we are looking at possibly the best Marvel franchise thus far.
That's right, I said it.
And you got NOTHING!!!
As much of the country is left stranded for Christmas due to a storm, I wonder what are their thoughts on the credibility of Global Warming? HAHA...

I understand your view Batstud but you have to look at it from a certan point of view...
1. This movie was a vehicle for two things, a solo silver surfer movie, and revamp of the Fantastic Four Franchise due to the low rated sequel that was expected.
2. This is not a franchise wrapped around Galactus
3. Doom will alway be the main villian and like Magneto will appear in the 3rd probably be a much bigger role.
For the movie i thought it was a better achievement than the first, But look at X-Men, How many people thought X2 was alot better than x1? Its all down to origin stories, they never do well but there the start of any marvel franchise. So any sequel will be excellent.
So where do they go from here... Its no dumby what will happen next with the Fantastic Four Franchise. They will need to top what they one in Rise Of The Silver Surfer. In my oppion they only have two options and i prefer my first option to the second.
They wont go alien again, and they wont use some small time villian like Moleman, Puppet Master or The Mad Thinker. But like most movies you need team on team compertition. Look at x-men you had Brotherhood vs X-Men. You had that in the first movie but wasnt made as big as the 3rd x-men movie.
So you need rivals, now considering they have Doom as there main villian its a highly strung possiblity that Doom could bring the Frightful Four only done in a more possitive light for the world to kind of show up the fantastic four.
However i would imagin they would want something new. So my first option would be better which is...
FANTASTIC FOUR: AND THE INHUMANS
It would be perfect because it has the edge of MrFantastic trying to locate doom and discovers the home of the inhumans one earth and then you have there reckoning a new team of heros or villians of which they fight,

| You really did like it BatSTUD?? Seriously, no sarcasm? The Silver Surfer was right. All that we know is at an end. I thought you would rip this film apart. Now if BatSTUD likes it, why cant the rest of you? This film was one of better comic films I've seen when it comes to sheer entertainment. |

Are you serious? The film was completely sh**! They messed up everything! They made Johnny a super-skrull, The Thing looks like a toy, he had more clothing line than a Ken doll, turned Galan (Galactus) in to a cosmic vortex, and worst of all
killed him off after he just appears at the end, for 5-10 mins, he didn't even try to convince him to leave earth alone!
The only reason I saw this movie was to see two of my favourite characters Silver Surfer and Galan. I can tell you I was only pleased with one of them. The Gothic X-Stud/The Twisted Spider-man

I thought it much much better than the first. It's still no masterpiece in the genre.
My only serious complaint is this:
Julian McMahon established himself (In my opinion) as the strongest link in the first film, both in performance and story. His on screen presence was very impressive, and aside a few nice bits from Evens and Alba, I thought the rest of the movie was lame.
And how does Mr. Story capitalize on this...
By cutting his part down drastically in number two, with him taking the backseat, rarely appearing in the first half of the movie (When he does, he absolutely dominates. The short "Monitor scene. Awsome.)
He shows up in final quarter and before we have any real chance at all to see him in full glory of his new Doom Duds, he turns all silvery on the board and goes ape ___. Then falls into the water, not to seen again in the film.
I think he's the best thing in this franchise, and one of the better on screen comic book film villains. Im perplexed to why Tim Story hacked away at the anchor of the movies. "Where there is a great deal of light, the shadows are deeper."-Goethe

| I liked the action sequences but the characters and the dialogue was too corny and childish. I think they had a group of monkeys writing the movie. I thought the scene when Johnny had all there powers and was kicking doom's ass was awesome. Doom did a good job as well. Surfer was awesome. Just skip past all the dialogue and watch the action. |

1. Disagree. The idea of a solo Silver Surfer movie didn't start until this week. Plus, they're only talking about to get people excited about the FF2. You'll never see a solo Silver Surfer live-action movie.
2. Making a Rise of the Silver Surfer movie with the second FF installment tells me that the OBVIOUS next step is Galactus. I never said the series is wrapped around him.
3. WHY THE HELL WILL MAGNETO BE IN FF3? Are you stoned?
Your conclusions are pretty random and unrealistic.

Uhm, ok?!?
So you will only think this movie is good IF Galactus appears in the third, but other wise, it's "crap"?! Doesn't the movie itself make it crap? I mean, here you have all this build up for this titanic, world crushing character and when he finally shows up, after an hour and twenty minutes of pure boredom, he ends up being just a funnel cloud. Where was Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton?! They could have taken this guy!
All kidding aside, FF2 was in no way, shape or form, better than Spider-Man 3. People complaining about spidey dancing will completely die when they see Mr. Fantastic shake his groove thang. That was embarrassing and hell of a lot more ridiculous than spider-mans. That scene in spidey might have been awful, but at least awsome action made up for it. People who saw the FF2 trailer already saw most of the action for this one. Seriously. the only good part was when
johnny storm gets all of the team's powers and beats the crap out of Doom
. That's it though.
FF2 was juvenile in every way (
Doom wanting to steal Silver Surfers' surf board. seriously??
). from the plot to the humor. what does that say about you?
(NOTE: I actually did like FF2; it was an improvement over the first one, but the lack of action, dull action and alba looking like a street walker hinders the experience.) "I laugh in the face of danger...then I hide until it goes away."
"Friends come and go. Enemies accumulate."

Okay BatSTUD, you definitely crossed the line this time. What is the point of dissing or insulting at the fans that did like the movie? If you hate the movie so much then don't say anything about it then and move on. And dude, Hollywood won't ever listen what you whiney fans want and they won't ever listen what I want either so just face it dude. If you don't like what they done with Fantastic Four then go make your own version of Fantastic Four then if you think you can make it better and I'm serious about it too.
Did you red this? I guess not.

You guys don't get it do you. Don't you know they(Marvel) are trying to sell comic books to kids when they make these films? No matter what the material is, it's so they can sell comics, toys, and merchandise. Not to make some fanboy drool in his chair.
As far as Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, I think the writers did a good job. They placed the FF in a real world setting, think about it. Just like Nascar, they would be getting endorsements like Dodge, Keebler, so on and so forth. It sounds ridiculous now, but in today's world would be true.
It's definitely better than the first film. |

Who rattled your cage BatStud your really showing yourself up in this thread.
1. - The Silver Surfer Movie has been on marvels slate since early 2002 they put surfer in the fantastic four movie to be a vehicle to see how the public likes him. if yes then solo spin off. If not no surfer movie
2. I was refering to Doom being simular to Magneto! Infact that if they make a fantastic four 3 doom will continue to play his role. Because hes like how magneto is portrayed in the x-men movies.
3. If you didnt like the first movie, and now the second why bother posting in this forum?
