Marc Forster will now direct

Marc Forster has taken over the director's chair from Sam Mendes on the DreamWorks film The Kite Runner. There has not been any dates yet set for filming or release yet.

DreamWorks Pictures has tapped director Marc Forster ("Finding Neverland") to helm "The Kite Runner," based on Khaled Hosseini's best selling book and scripted by David Benioff ("25th Hour").

Forster replaces Sam Mendes who was attached to direct. Mendes will remain with the project as an executive producer...
