From what I have read so far regarding the Day remake, this appears to be a project that is doomed to failure.
The original film was weak to say the least by comparison to Night and Dawn, which at the time were ground-breaking.
The whole "zombies with intelligence" idea was a case of the director over indulging himself, with no one from the studio stating that this premise was awful. So to base the new film on the same concept would seem ridiculous.
As a film fan we tend to hold the films that we saw in out youth (as a child in my case, from a dodgy copy on my Uncles top loading VHS), with a reverence that if we were to revisit them, would disappear (Hills Have Eyes 2, Ghouls, Terror Vision, Neon Maniacs etc.).
I would like to see this film being a direct sequel to the Dawn remake, which was an excellent example of how a film can be remade for a new audience, without losing and of its original principles and intelligence. And lets face this film was far more exciting than the original.
I hope this will work out, but chances are?

Hey, TerrorVision alright. Finally someone else who remembers that movie.
Anyways i thought Romaro's Day of the Dead was exellent and very entertaining (but alittle slow). And i am looking forward to this movie. That is all. |

I also thought Day was the weakest of the three.
Sad thing is I have Neon Maniacs on DVD... LOL!
What a concept, using waterguns... classic. |

| Day of the Dead wasnt the only movie George made with intelligent zombies remember Night? not to the same extent, but they were intelligent, thinking based on free will beings. Example: When Ben (the black guy) and the young couple go and get gas for the truck and the truck explodes a MINDLESS being wouldnt have gone up to the flaming truck and tried to eat them. George's zombies waited until the fire and smoke had FULLY left the truck and THEN starting to chew on the remains. Another example: at the very end of the movie when all the zombies break into the house they use rocks and blunt objects to help break in, that is a sure sign of some primitive intelligence that was still existing. Example 3: when Ben opens the door to take out a dead zombie and sets it on fire in the grass all the other zombies BACK AWAY, they dont come closer which is another sign of some form of free will. Now on to Dawn, easy examples here example 1: when they go to barricade the mall shut one of the zombies has to pull up the truck door to get at Rodger (the white national guardsmen) and another one breaks open the glass to try to access Rodgers head. Example 2: when Peter (the black national guardsmen) tries to block off their stairwell its only Rodger, Steve ("flyboy") are the only other two people that know about it, Rodger gets shot because hes a zombie, and Steve is a zombie but comes back later to TEAR down the hidden entrance to the stairwell. Example 3: even the radio broadcasting throughout the whole movie even say "zombies are acting more intelligent" "we've had reports of zombies using blunt objects as weapons". Example 4: the only time the zombies outside the mall try to leave is when the zombies realize they cant get inside, when they try to leave the looters show up and smash their way inside and bring with them the zombies. example 5: when Steve, Rodger and Peter all are leaving one area of Penny's Rodger gets attacked by a zombie that was blended in with the surroundings. Example 6: when Steve finds the map and the handgun he gets stuck in the basement with a zombie because the zombie is playing a game of HIDE AND SEEK, so Steve uses sound to try to locate the zombie. seriously, Dawn wasnt the beginning of this so-called "intelligent zombie" George has been doing it since Night of the Living Dead its what the whole movie series is about black is my heart, i am nemesis |
