for some odd reason, I think that they will use the lizard as the villian only and go old school with it. If you think about it, spidey 1 and 2 had one villian. Spidey 3 had four ( Venom, Sandman, New Goblin, Symbiote Spiderman ) and that didnt turn out so great.
Well yeah, but then they would recast Dylan Baker cause I'm sure they would want their new villain actor, who wasn't in the previous one like Alfred Molina, Thomas Hayden Church, and Topher Grace. But who knows. They might not want to use Kraven since they couldn't get Mickey Rourke. |

I'm sure Dylan Baker won't be recasted. He been in 2 films already & want to play the Lizard beside the one of the producer & Raimi himself wanting the Lizard in the 4th film.
And Mickey Rourke as Kraven was likely just a false rumor. Even if they couldn't use him, they can still use Kraven. It not like they made him just for Rourke. Again, we don't know who the villians is. You're not patient on waiting to hear who the villians for part 4 with keeping asking Emi, are you? Patience, young padawan.
Well that whole Mickey Rourke being offered the role of the villain came from Nikki Finke from Deadline Hollywood Daily and she's very credible. Plus I'm tired of being patient. It's the end of September, they start filming in January, and we still don't have any new casting or villain news. It's ridiculous. |

Well this confirms the Venom spinoff even more.
Exclusive interview

Venom movie takes the next oozing step toward reality
The Spider-Man franchise seemed to come off the rails creatively with the disappointing third chapter in 2007. No, it wasn't Batman and Robin, but suffice it to say fans weren't particularly happy, especially with the treatment of fan fave and longtime Spidey arch-nemesis Venom.
Now Sony is going forward with a Venom spinoff movie, which pretty much has fans split down the middle. Will it finally do the fanged black-ooze baddie justice, or will it be more of the same? The good news is that Zombieland co-writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick have been tasked with penning the project (Zombieland is awesome, so fingers crossed).
Today Wernick confirmed to us that the project is still moving forward and the writing team has turned the script in to the suits at Sony. "We've written two drafts of Venom, and the studio has it, and they're pushing forward in whatever ways they push forward," Wernick told SCI FI Wire in an exclusive interview.
So when might Venom be going into production? "We're not sure, [but] we've turned in our two drafts," said Wernick.
One big question has been whether a Venom movie might happen even before Spider-Man 4, but that now appears unlikely. The latest rumors have Spidey 4 shooting in early 2010. When asked about the relationship between the two movies, Wernick was tight-lipped. "We can't really talk about that, unfortunately," the writer said before adding, "Basically, the studio and Marvel and the Arads are taking our drafts and going beyond and figuring out what's the next step."

I got this from MovieWeb from a dude named J.A.Ottley/Writer/Directo r in the comment section of Venom script being done.

Actually to correct some people...
Venom was only written poorly because he was never meant to be in the screenplay, if you read the treatment, it only featured the symbiote but due to crying fan boys and Sam Raimi wanting to please the fans and obviously producers being dicks, they introduced Venom in the last draftor 2nd to the last draft, hence why he was so poorly written and has such a minimum screentime.
The original idea was
Spider man 3 - Sandman & New Goblin & Symbiote
Spider man 4 - Lizard, Venom and possibly Kraven.
But i agree Venom has to be R-rated, have a proper strong story, need a proper actor what the **** were they thinking with Topher, there was only one line where he sounded like Venom, which was where he teamed up with Sandman he said one line and it was 'INTERESTED!' that was the only believeable venom part in the film.
I agree with Agent, Twisted Smile, CBF and that R-rating, and learning more about the character |
