October 10, 2006 — According to Production Weekly: "Jeff Betancourt, the editor on the upcoming sequel "The Grudge 2," is set to make his directorial debut on another horror sequel "Boogeyman 2." Penned by Brian Sieve, (The Wes Craven produced "Ambrose Fountain") the script centers on a young woman with a long-term phobia of the boogeyman, who voluntarily checks herself into a mental health facility with the hope of conquering her overwhelming fears. However, much to her horror, she discovers that some things are terrifying on purpose, and confronting her demons was not the best course of action. Production is scheduled to begin late November in Los Angeles. Betancourt's cutting credits also include "When a Stranger Calls," "The Exorcism of Emily Rose" and "The Grudge." |
