January 12, 2005 — Liam Neeson (Batman Begins, Kinsey) will play "Abraham Lincoln" , according to Variety. The film will be directed by Steven Spielberg, and is based on a book titled "The Uniter: The Genius of Abraham Lincoln", written by Pulitzer Prize-winning historian Doris Kearns Goodwin.
Paul Webb was the latest screenwriter to work on the script. A January 2006 start date is being targeted.
