The movie coming out is based on the book by the award winning writer and former Harvard professor, Doris Kearns Goodwin. I must admit, I've never read any of her books, but I guess I will have to now!
She's recently been embroiled in a flap over alleged plagiarism in one or more of her books. These things are hard to prove, and equally hard to disprove, considering the volume of writing that is out there.
We're talking about single lines from historical text here, it must be easy to make mistakes on a single line that isn't footnoted properly, but I don't know.
We'll have to wait and see what the outcome of all this is.
In the meantime, the Uniter - The Genius of Abraham Lincoln is the book that will be made into the film. I think the books is also under a new title...Master Among Men."
