Lincoln used pardons a lot, and he actually pardoned one of his son's toy soldiers. (There was also a turkey that was pardoned around Thanksgiving...and this tradition continues today) Lincoln had such a crucial part of our history, so whether you admire him (as I do) or are more of the revisionist, this movie will make a great film. The whole writing of the Gettysburg address is an awesome story, too. What parts of Lincolns' life would you like to see? "All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us." Contrast that with the cronyism today. His reasoning was sound: He wanted the strongest and best people in his party working for the government he was forming. Think about that.
