Football superstar David Beckham's chance at movie success has been ground to a halt after Real Madrid coach Wanderley Luxemburgo nixed his chance for a movie debut reports Digital Spy.

Beckham had originally planned to film scenes for soccer film "Goal!" last week. A source told the Sunday Mirror, "Beckham was gutted. He was really looking forward to doing the film. This was due to be his first Hollywood break and it's about his big passion - football. But Luxemburgo pulled the plug at the last minute. He's been threatening to clamp down on his players' activities outside football so they can concentrate on improving their form on the pitch."

The paper's source continues, "It's made it difficult for Beckham as he's signed the deal to star in the film. But Luxemburgo has made it very clear his acting career is not his top priority while he's at Real Madrid." The movie's producers are now hoping to negotiate with Luxemburgo to come up with a new arrangement...They are hoping he'll agree to let Beckham and his team-mates film their scenes sometime next month.
