How excited (or not) I am to see this movie...
I had hoped that the original movie would have been in the future. I realise that our exposure to the Predator race has been in the past and present of human history but until AvP1 the Aliens had been in the future.

It would have been good if they'd followed along the lines of the comic series or the AvP games - more like Aliens. A gritty desolate backdrop with little or no hope of escape from a potential Alien infestation. I know that rings true of the AvP movie, in Antarctica but choosing a mid-western Yank town? Please.
No offence meant, but haven't we seen enough rampaging through 'American' monuments and stuff that you guys can relate to rather than the rest of the world? It almost sounds like a TV series background rather than a blockbuster movie.

In the end, it doesn't matter if it's in the U.S., Canada, Australia or even Mongolia. These races are FAR better than being confined to a modern day setting. They should be a space fairing race and that's really how we have always seen them - the Aliens I mean. Lowering them to smalltown, backwater planet, standards is just pathetic, poorly funded, film production. I think the film will suck as much as the first one.
