Alright first off Alien VS. Predator: Requiem is a step up from AVP, i am sure you knew that but i must say it isn't a giant step up.
AVP-R is good, don't get me wrong, but it still has some problems. They fixed a few that AVP left, but also created a few more. Look at it this way, this is nothing more than one of the comicbook series turned into film, i still refuse to think that the AVP Series has anything to do with the Alien storyline.
The movie felt like a mixture of The Blob & Slither with a little bit of Resident Evil: Apolcalypse and The Deadly Spawn thrown in. It didn't exactly feel like an Alien or Predator film. It had all the right stuff, but forsome reason just didn't feel it.
Wolf the main Predator looks fantastic, same goes to the Aliens and the Predalien, all looks good. The action is Great and dosen't let up. Overall there are enough battle scenes to keep you from checking your cell phone and yes you get the right amount of gore without it going over the top. The music is also good, and it's nice to see that the predators didn't scream like Lions and the Aliens had there old scream back instead of the cat-like hissing.
Now let's talk about the PredAlien , one of the things that i thought was just odd was [SPOILER] It impregnated some pregnate girls, by shoveing something down there throat threw it's mouth. and like five aliens busted out of her stomach. [/SPOILER] i don't know what the heck that was all about but it was cool none-the-less and gave the film a reason for more aliens. Also i liked how it was like the general to the aliens[SPOILER] often knocking an alien aside to get the kill [/SPOILER]. the last battle sequence with wolf and the predalien was kickass and shows you that it is a tough match for the predator, it's too bad it didn't last real long though.
The kids were another thing it didn't like about the film. The whole stupid love-story needed to go. Alright, it's an AVP film not The OC no reason for that to be in there.
[SPOILER] it's funny when the girl dies though, and the boyfriend runs at the predator shooting. [/SPOILER]
Overall I liked the movie alot more than the first, but still i felt a bit dissapointed, not enough to keep me from enjoying it though.
The movie also felt too short, hopefully we get an extended cut of it when it hit's DVD.
So go see it and judge for yourself.

My theator was packed and almost soled out at 7:40pm on X-Mas. Almost every seat was filled. Hopefully this movie makes enough money so we can get a 3rd.
