AvP Franchise Cancelled, Long Live Predator?

It's been a long time since we've heard anything about a potential Predator 3 movie. Producer John Davis did an interview with Collider (news is also on Bloody-Disgusting) and he mentions what the future may hold:

You were also involved with AVP and AVPR, which are two great franchises, but they havent been able to work as a joint franchise. When are we going to see them go separate? Or are we going to see a third AVP?
John Davis: Well, the Governor has mentioned to me that when he ceases to be Governor, if he doesnt run for the Senate and all of that stuff, hed like to do a movie or two again. And I dont know, maybe we could restart the Predator franchise.

So if Arnold wanted to do it, its going to get made?
John Davis: Well wed have to come up with a really good script and a really great angle on it, but Predator was the first movie I was ever involved with, so its always going to have a really soft spot in my heart.

So is the AVP franchise on hold for now?
John Davis: I think weve logically done what we couldve done with the two AVP movies. But I think theres something to go back to with Predator.

So there you have it. I never thought Arnie would return to acting though, especially in a new Predator movie. However, it's definitely a positive that they're ditching the AvP franchise.

I'd rather their be one more AVP movie to make things full circle for the franchise.Such as it fleshing out the bitter struggle of the predators and aliens.Showing an invasion on the predators planet and it showing the alien homeworld and it ending on a ambiguous note involving the planet where Alien 1 and 2 took place.

I agree with Genocyber. They need to do one more to at least redeem themselves from the other 2 AvP movies.

I liked it to. I have a hard time hating the second and a hard time liking the first.

I blame all the ppl who wouldn't shut there ****ing mouths. They always talking about how Fox doesn't listen to the fans, well guess what, there listning now!! No more avp!!

I swear if they **** up Predator with this new movie, I'm not blaming Fox. Oh no I'm blaming everyone who said **** about AVP who forced Fox to go after the single films and ruin them!

I will find where all those ppl are and go Patrick Bateman, and Ted Bundy on there ass!!!!!!!!
