David Twohy is an exceptional filmmaker and most of his work is extremely underrated! He is a great writer/director whose style has a unique flair that I have not seen in many other's style. Twohy can masterfully use creative camera angles to showcase scenes in visually impressve and awe inspiring shots. As for his writing, no matter how the final product turns out, his writing always has ingenuity. Take a look at the The Fugitive, a chase picture unlike anything seen prior to it and it really went on to inspire the style in the Bourne films & Shooter. Elements from his A3 script inspired aspects in the subsequent Alien films. Water world was a fresh take on the post apocalyptic genre. The Arrival took elements from classic sci-fi horror films and David Twohy inserted his own ingenuity into it & much like Water world, it was fresh & it contained a strong message about ecological footprints and global warming. Once again in PB, Twohy and the Wheat brothers took inspiration from classics to build their blue print and create something very fresh, high quality & rewarding. Their ingenuity deserves special mention thanks to their creation of the Riddick character who is very memorable & charismatic despite the character being an anti-hero. Twohy has both incredible directional & writing talent!
The Alien & Predator films are loved by many but the AvP films were utter abominations which have put these once great franchises on life support. Given that Fox wants to only pursue AvP films, let's actually try to get someone talented enough who can pull the series out of the mess it has fallen into. David Twohy, who is the director of the very good futuristic sci-fi Riddick films and the writer of The Fugitive, is perfect for an AvP film. David Twohy is the most suitable candidate and probably the only filmmaker with some talent who just might touch this lowly franchise. We should consider ourselves very fortunate if someone of his caliber touches this series. Twohy is familiar with sci-fi horror (PB, Below), he is familiar with sci-fi action (TCOR, The Arrival) and he is familiar with the Alien series (unproduced A3 script) while he can masterfully direct futuristic sci-fi, his writing has lots of ingenuity and he is ultimately an effective director making him the ideal director for AvP 3.
Fox themselves had inquired for his availability to write/direct AvP but he couldnt take it due to conflicting projects but now if Twohy himself approaches Fox, there is a big chance they are going to hire him. Twohy has two current projects and if they are even moderately successful like PB then Fox will pounce on him. With Foxs current practices, all three franchises may be dead within a decade. David Twohy can rather easily make a decent film that puts prior AvPs and even A:R or P2 to shame bringing in not only a lot of optimism back but Twohy himself will find lots of respect from Alien/Predator fans & his career will get a major boost! Twohy said that if he were to do a film in another sci-fi franchise then he wants to start on a new one however certainly rebooting the AvP series and taking it in his own direction would be a great idea in this case. David Twohy can certainly very easily ignore the previous two films, reboot the franchise, take it in a new direction and make a quality film that puts both prior AvP films to utter shame!

One relevant and interesting tidbit is that david Twohy wrote an unproduced Alien 3 script! Twohy's A3 script was very decent and elements like the prison setting and genetically altered Aliens were used in A3 & A:R respectively. In my opinion, his script would have made for a far better fourth film than A:R.

If David Twohy hopefully does an AvP reboot film then he can certainly implement some of his good/interesting ideas from the script into the film!
A petition has been created which may have some influence on him prompting him to approach Fox. As a fan, I know you want these franchises to live on and to return to it's former glory and we should consider ourselves very fortunate if someone of Twohy's caliber touches the franchise now. Do your part by showing your sincerity! Support the petition, promote the petition, e-mail the petition to your friends, tell them to pass it on to others etc. Your effort is greatly appreciated & you never know, it may pay off at the end!

David Twohy isn't aware of the petition & it's being kept a surprise. The petition will be presented to him soon after it gathers a respectable amount of signatures & once he is done with his current project in order to move him to the cause of the fans. Twohy does usually reply to the e-mails sent to him and does listen to fans. I suggest you to support the petition and let's all remain optimistic!

Umm ok to be honest...I hate this idea. I just...Water World??? Who the hell would give an AVP film to the guy that made Water World? The Fugitive was good but riddik? I hated those movies. I thought they were the worst things I have ever seen. No offence but Aliens Resurrectionwas better then those films. I am not for this guy.
I'm not sure who is fit for an AVP movie. The only ppl I can think of are the ones who actually care that the movies exist and remember how good they were. Thats all. I loved AVPR and had some probloms with AVP but I would love a director with his own look as much as the rest of you. However David is not the guy.
Ya know I think we can live without another AVP movie for now. Lets wait until a good director has said to himself "Hey, Aliens and Predator were 2 really good movies. I think I'll make an AVP3." But until then just wait.
To be honest I don't think a good director will do this movie becasue they will all think that Alien and Predator were fine the way they were, if AVP and AVPR ruined that then why would they touch it. Maybe we can live with the movies we have. For the people who don't like the 2 AVP movies, why don't you just ignor them. Thats what that new Terminator show is doing to T3, and ppl are living wiht it. Just live with all 8 movies or just 6.
