Speak for yourself. I preferred Predator 2 with Danny Glover to Predator 1. I liked the urban setting.
All I do is speak for myself.
There's a big drop off in macho-ness (which Predator 1 THRIVED ON) with a superior alien hunter vs. a covert super-soldier military man, and that same alien vs. an LAPD officer.
I liked the city setting too, but reducing the Predator to a drug-dealer/junkie killer was terrible. Overall, #2 was just too cheesy for me.
Alien Resurrection is a terrible movie, in my opinion, surviving only by it's name, not it's story. It was made to make money, not to entertain. It's presentation came across like one of those sci-fi channel monster movies.
Maybe you can say that those films don't suck, but their predecessors are GREAT FILMS. When there is such a loss of quality in the further installments, that's how they get labeled with 'suck.' |
