I saw it, and it was very good. I'm definently gonna have to watch it again.
Unfortunately, it was indeed disappointing, in the fact that it did not manage to live up to the Clerks title. The first film is still greatly superior, mainly because Clerks II had several smaller downward spirals that the first Clerks did not have.
Such spirals include the "ABC" musical number, the character of Elias(we all like to see comic/movie geeks in movies, but Elias was just geeky beyond reality. he just seemed waaaay too made up.), etc.
However, each of these spirals tend to be rather small, leaving plenty of room for the film to redeem itself, which it does.
If I had to grade Clerks and Clerks II each on a scale of 1 - 5(5 being the best), it would go something like this:
Clerks: 4.5 - 5
Clerks II: 3 - 5
MY TOP 5 MOVIES FOR 2006
1. X-Men: The Last Stand
2. Superman Returns
3. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest
4. The Omen
5. Casino Royale |
