According to Arrow in the Head, Land of the Dead has been banned from playing in theaters in Ukraine by the Culture Ministry citing cultural sensitivities. Apparently in the 1930's the Ukaraine went through the Holdomor, a famine that resulted in millions of deaths and incidences of cannibalism. As a result, commission member Maksym Rostotsky told the press, "A movie with scenes of people being eaten alive should not be given the go-ahead."
