For all you Romero fans out there, you are going to enjoy this film. To me, the zombies looked really cool, especially in the scenes where they had to use animatronics. I've heard alot of people talk about how there isn't much character development and how they don't like the idea of zombies using guns and other weapons, here is my opinion on that
1. I felt that the characters where moderately developed, we are given as much knowledge as we need.
Giving the zombies some intelligence made them less scary. I loved the main zombie, I actually started to feel sorry for him after a while.
2. The issue of the zombies using weapons has been a sort of evolution throughout all the movies.
In notld, the little girl in the basement turns into a zombie, then she stabs her mom to death with a shovel or something like that
Not sure if they used any weapons in the original dawn of the dead.
We all know that Bub started to evolve and became a personified character in Day of the dead. He started using a handgun and doing stuff that he did in life.
So, it only seems natural that the zombies start acting this way.
Great death scenes too.
If you didn't like this movie, my advice is to watch the previous movies very closely and watch how the zombie constantly evolved from film to film.
Yup, Karen in NOTLD did use a weapon (was it a gardening hoe?) against her mom, Bub did use a gun, but zombies are scary enough without shooting at ya...
