Ron Howard Update From Greg Schmitz At Yahoo News

Possibly Ron Howard is not out of the running for directing The Alamo. There is more talk about Disney, budgets and an 'R" rating.

"It makes sense to me that Howard would want to be able to show the horrors of war, guaranteeing an R-rating, but Disney is not entirely wrong about the limitations of such a rating, as to how it relates to their ability to recoup their $125 million investment.

My suggestion would be to do what Steven Spielberg did... make your R-rated movie, but cut the costs where the studio is hurt the most: star salaries. If the stars won't work for cheap, hire the talented actors who will....
