This is wrong, period. What the hell made them decide to base this off the Shaft-ified version that's existed for barely two years (and sucks), when they have two kick ass versions of the character to work with, the 60's trippy spy version and the Ennis MAX mini-series version? For starters, Clint Eastwood is the real Nick Fury, all he needs to do is buff up a little and throw on the eyepatch and a cigar. This is retarded, no way will I see it, and I love Samuel L. And if anyone wants to start the racist argument, I pulled for Michael Clark Duncan in Daredevil.

Technically, it sounds like it's too early to be *totally* certain which version of the character they'll do, but I'd imagine that if they're talking to Samuel L. Jackson, even if he doesn't take the part, they'll stay with the Ultimate version. Not expressing an opinion, just noting. I would be kinda happy either way, although I think there are definite advantages to both. But then, I'm not a huge Fury fan, so I'm not really the guy to ask.

i know samual l jackson is front runner for the part. Mainly because of the ultimates revival of the nick fury character. The art work was actually based on samual l Jackson.

also said that may feature as a villian would be hammer head.

Reason for all this is because marvel exc wanted to do a movie featuring samual l jackson as a comic book here. After seeing his role in unbrakeable as the glassman.

But as comming up for a character the nearist they could get was bishop in x-men but bryan stated that he is not going to do any set in the future stories for the films.

So the excutives of marvel around the time of comming up with the ulitmates. Said lets design a newer verson of Nick Fury based on a more modern style vison. Being that nick fury does look like a taxen cowboy and very simulare to Mr Fantastic for hair cut. basically it was mr fantastic with an eye patch. So the newer verson of nick was black and why not they thought.

Personnel i think there should be more black characters in the comic books. It is a bit white skinned in alot of comic books.

Anyway the marvel excutives combind the idea of samual l jackson look for nick fury for the advent of there ever being a movie.

Now i know there are alot of fans out there who like originallity but think about the movie daredevil, Michael was an excellent Kingpin dont you think.

So thumbs up for this movie.

Samuel L Jackson is a good choice, but I think Jackson is a superstar now, I recogn Ving Rhames can also take this role:

He was quite good in movie like DOTD and the MI series, I recogn its his turn to take on a main role, as Samuel is a Jedi Knight, Supervillain (in unbreakable), a detective (in Shaft). Then again, Samuel will make a great Fury, we'll see who comes through.

Yet another reason why the Ultimate line should be destroyed.

And Michael Clark Duncan was all fine and good because he did a good job, and there was no white actor who looked anything like the character, hence the change. Here, they have at least one perfect Nick Fury, if not more, I haven't thought about it too much, and they're going with the "hipper" (read: suckier) one. This is not a movie, as the board says, "Based on Marvel's hit series, Nick Fury: Agent Of S.H.I.E.L.D." This is a movie based on a crappy take-off of the character who is not Nick Fury. Racial equality my ass, if they'd been able to find a white guy who looked just like the Kingpin, MCD wouldn't have even been asked. It's good that he was, but that's beside the point. God forbid Marvel have one character in the Ultimate line that wasn't tied in to a movie, can't wait for the suck-ass Ultimates movie trying to be the Authority instead of a good Avengers movie. For such a minor character, albeit one I've come to like recently, this crap really shakes my faith in future Marvel movies, especially the ones that will be based on lesser known or second tier characters.

Actually i know at least 4 actors perfect for the role of wilson fisk aka kingpin. All perfect for the role. But i reckon they didnt really look hard enough for actors. Because basically Kevin Smith had alot of infulance in that film. Hence why ben affleck who doesnt really look like matt murdock got the part. He was good thow as daredevil.

I'm an old-timer who remembers the days of Nick Fury when he was with S.H.I.E.L.D. and he was wearing that black costume with the gun-holsters under each armpit, stogie stuck in his mush.........I don't remember ANYTHING about the Ultimates' series, so I'm somewhat biased in wanting to have the White Nick Fury. I think when characters are written in comics, or when they are written to be a CERTAIN way, then that's the way they should be brought to life. I don't know, perhaps it's being narrow-minded, but that's the way I like it. It's like if they wanted to make Luke Cage: Hero for Hire, and decide to make him Hispanic because more Hispanic actors need to have the spotlight shined on them, because there aren't many jobs for the Hispanic actors. I just would like to see them stick to the way it was originally intended, that's all.
