Because lets face it video game to movie crossovers aren't the best. Super Mario Bros., Tomb Raider, and with the craptstic John Woo behind Metroid you can bet that won't be good either. So I think Depp would be smart and dodge this movie.

I think Johnny Depp would be great. He'll take on the role if the script is excellent so Mechner better make it one hell of a script.

He once said he wasn't in the movies for the money and he seems to chooses whatever roles he thinks are interesting, but main-stream stuff and independent movies alike.

As long as Orlando Bloom doesn't get the role I'm one happy camper.

I'm just hoping this one doesn't go down the c*** hole like some other videogame to movie titles aka Tomb Raider.
