August 22, 2006 — Jonathan Landreth reports "China's popular actor-director team of Ge You and Feng Xiaogang will do the Chinese voiceover of the characters of "Open Season," Sony Pictures Animation's first feature, Sony said Tuesday. Chinese moviegoers will be treated to actor Ge's comic timing as the fanatical hunter Shaw, and Feng's raspy common-man voicings as Boog the hapless grizzly. "This is a first for both," Li Chow, head of Sony for China, said. "Their voices are distinct and the audience can easily recognize them." In the original English-language version, Boog is voiced by Martin Lawrence and Shaw by Gary Sinise. " |
