Brokeback Mountain “Brokeback” — duiroak [More reviews by this user] Anticipation Level: How excited (or not) I am to see this movie... This movie haunts me. Since seeing it I can't stop thinking about it. Beautiful, tragic and heartbreaking. Ledger is AMAZING! One of the most beautiful lovestories, gay or straight , that I have ever seen. And by the way, people who reviews movies without seeing them first is a grade A dork. Hey KM, did you realize that this movie starts in 1963 when being gay wasn't real easy. Many gays and lesbian married in those times because they had to. They didn't have the resourses that we have today. If anything this movies show how repression of our desires, more often than not, leads to tragedy. And you know not all representations of us should or needs to be positive. If you want our lives to be truley shown then we have to show EVERYTHING not just the things that won't upset straight people. Life is not tidy. And just because you've been gay from birth doesn't make you the expert on how all other gay people should or must behave. And, by the way, I am a gay man and have been gay all my life.
