American Family Assn., a Christian political group, has begun writing letter to Wal-Mart in hopes that they will not carry the Brokeback Mountain DVD in their stores.

Christian political action group American Family Assn. has launched a letter-writing campaign against Wal-Mart for carrying and promoting Universal Studio Home Entertainment's Brokeback Mountain DVD.

The conservative group says the movie, a gay cowboy love story, is not family-friendly and that Wal-Mart is abandoning its principles by carrying the title.

Wal-Mart will offer the DVD at all of its stores nationwide, as it does with most movie releases, Wal-Mart spokeswoman Jolanda Stewart said. The disc streets April 4.
