I just hope that there will be a sequel to this fantastic film of all time as in my view it cannot be left there like it ended...Lets start a petion. I only know that when the film was nearly ending I was shouting at the screen not to end it like this & was also praying that J would suddenly appear at the window when Ennis closed the wardrobe door having gone into hiding because of the Gay bashers and people finding out about him being gay & had faked his death or sommat....HEY Brill idea for a sequel.!! What think you ??? Cant get over the film & been a long time since sommat affected me this much...Oscars all round I say. Ken carps1000

Funny I had the same thought that Jack was going to show up at the end having faked his death due to his having to hide his sexuality from the world and spare his wife the "shame" of it all.
If the soaps can bring characters back from the dead....they can surely bring Jack back. The biggest problem probably would be getting these two stars back together for a reprise of their roles. I am sure that both will be very busy after the Oscars..and rightly so

Absolutely no sequel for this movie. The story was told...there is nothing to tell.

An' Harm None, Do What Ye Will.

What ye send comes back to thee.
So ever mind the law of three.

In the wake of the success of "Brokeback Mountain", gay love stories which studios were hesitant about doing are now getting a new life including one of the most high profile. This week, producer Andrew Lang optioned Peter Lefcourt novel "The Dreyfus Affair: A Love Story" and hired Lefcourt to write the script reports Variety.

The novel concerns a married all-star shortstop who, in the heat of a pennant race, falls in love with his team's second baseman. As the double play combination goes public, scandal ensues. Book was first optioned in 1992 and has been developed in different incarnations at Disney (twice), Fox and New Line with filmmakers including Betty Thomas and David Frankel attached.

Lefcourt said the film got closest at New Line, where director Thomas had interest from Ben Affleck and Don Cheadle. Project struck out when Affleck instead did "Pearl Harbor".
