November 6, 2003 — Dimenion Films, which has always had a liking for horror, has optioned the truly terrifying Stephen King short story "1408".
The story, which appeared in "Everything's Eventual", is about a writer of popular books about haunted graveyards and houses who takes on hotels, and as a result decides to spend some time in the notorious Room 1408 of the Dolphin Hotel, kept unoccupied by the management due to strange happenings, multiple suicides and killings. The skeptical author is unafraid... until he discovers that the stories are true.
"We are thrilled to finally be able to work with Stephen King, whom I consider the master of the horror genre," said Dimension co-chairman Bob Weinstein. |
