The other day I gave you the link to a site that was run by someone very close to the production of Lucky McKee's follow up to May, The Woods. In it were some great details as to the status of the movie, but now the site has something even better...

The first review.

And I'm not talking about ones you may have seen on other sites, I mean the first review of the film in it's final cut with finished sound and special effects...and a new ending from the one that may have been seen by test audiences a year or so ago. What's the early word? Well, take into account the fact that the writer of said review has been close to the production pretty much from Day One first and foremost, and he fully admits it. That being said, maybe this quote will help answer that question;

"I was worried about THE WOODS ability to connect with the fans when I saw the earlier cuts, but this new one leaves no doubt that there will be a rabid following for it. How big that following will be, I can't say. But I think it will grow over time."

In essence, the movie is good. Better than even the writer was hoping for. I highly recommend you click here to check out the entire thing, however, because not only is it filled with more great behind-the-scenes pics like the one above, it's also very intelligent and well-written, and has me very psyched to see this movie.

Thanks to DreadCentral.
