October 21, 2004 — The Samuel Hadida-produced "Silent Hill" based on the Konami video game series has been acquired by Focus Features for international sales rights. Roger Avary wrote the screenplay with Christophe Gans on board to direct. Hadida's Davis Film Prods. is producing in association with Konami Corp. Sales will begin next week at the American Film Market. Hadida's Metropolitan Filmexport will release in France, and a North American distributor is expected to be announced shortly. The film revolves around a mother and daughter's quest to discover the secrets of the seemingly abandoned town of Silent Hill. Production has been fast-tracked for a March start. |
