Even tough I am a die hard fan of the original, I have much love for the sequels. I liked how the character of Angela evolved and the driection the series took. Of course by the end of the first one we find out the murderer is Angela, so the sequels don't have the whole "who is the killer" mystery going on... that gives us a chance to learn more about Angela and her everyday life (killing sprees). The death scenes are very well done and the comedy is top notch in that cheesy kind of way. I still stand by opinion that no sequel could ever match the original, but these are very good non the less...
I love the death scenes in Sleepaway Camp 2 & 3 but the original was so much better. The plot of the sequels is super shallow, its just Angela going aroung killing people who annoy her. I think they went in an entirely wrong direction with Angelas character (They should have kept "her" quiet and sweet and they should have kept her a man). Obviously Im not the only one who didnt like the direction of the sequels as Robert Hiltzik (creator of Sleepaway Camp and Return to Sleepaway Camp) has stated that they are not apart of his official time line and story. They were descent movies but not at all the masterpiece the first movie was.
Sleepaway Camp 1 spoiler Warning
