March 15, 2004 — Regina King (A Cinderella Story) is in final talks to join Sandra Bullock in the sequel to Miss Congeniality. John Pasquin will direct with filming expected to begin next month in Los Angeles. The production will also film in New York and Las Vegas.

Bullock will reprise her role as FBI Special Agent Gracie Hart in the sequel. King will play Samantha, a fellow FBI agent. The duo -- at odds with each other at first -- are partnered up and must head to Las Vegas on a new case they've been assigned. Heather Burns and William Shatner also star.
