October 23, 2003 — Sandra Bullock has agreed to star in and produce the sequel to "Miss Congeniality".

There is no start date for the sequel, but Marc Lawrence has written a script centering on Bullock's character, Special Agent Gracie Hart. Like the original, the sequel will be a Castle Rock Entertainment presentation in association with Village Roadshow Pictures. The first "Congeniality" made more than $100 million at the domestic boxoffice when it was released in 2000.

"The extraordinary support we have received from Warner Bros. over the past six years is such a rarity in this day and age that continuing our deal there was never a second thought," Bullock said. "Except for when they make me clean the commissary, working there has been nothing but ideal."
