September 19, 2004 — I was checking out the special edition version of The Lost Boys DVD. They have a whole section on the prospects of a sequel. Here is a synopsis of what was said:
Director Joel Schumacher confirmed that there was talk about a Lost Girls film, which involved motorcycle gang chicks and vampires
Corey Haim, who played "Sam", has responded to a prospect of a sequel with concern that such a move would ruin the first film.
Edward Herrman, who played the head vampire "Max," said that he would love to do a sequel, but there are two problems: (1)Getting Everyone back together (2)And the fact that he "got the stake" in the first film. Herrman suggested that they could solve the second problem through reconstituting his DNA. Oh yeah, and he would want the sequel to be good.
Richard Donner, who executive produced the film, was actually interested in doing a sequel, starring the Frog brothers. Corey Feldman, one of the Frog brothers in the film, expanded on that notion describing an early plot that he heard involving the brothers. Apparently, the Frog brothers opened a vampire killing business in Washington DC. Why Washington DC? Because of "political vampires." Feldman also chimed in on the Lost Girls rumors, and showed little interest because of the potential "sex change" that is character would have to go through.
