OMG! I can't believe that they're going to do a remake! I love the original! I was shocked enough that they made a remake of Ring. It might be interesting, though, and good luck to them :-) I look forward to seeing the result(although, I hope it's better than the Ring remake, which was terrible)!
Has anyone seen the original? I think it rocks! If a slow mover, it still gets to the point eventually, and boy(!) is that point fantastic!

I hope they don't mess it up like they did with the Ring remake.
I do love the original, though. The atmospere of it - the fantastic acting, flawless horror factor, 'water imagery'... Everything about it.
I want to get it on VHS/DVD, but it's soooo hard to get hold of. You can hire it easy from hiring places, but buying is the hard part.
Anyways, cool to see someone else who's seen it I guess we'll just have to watch this space for hints... Here's hoping.

I saw the original film. Its a good film. Makes a better job at an attempt of a horror / drama film than the americans.

Most US horror films are just films like serial killers, like all of the halloween series and jason voorhees films. These aint any good in my view.

Todays films are getting ridiculous, no film directors can come up with their own ideas, and most people not knowing about the original Hideo Nakata made, the directors etc will get credit for what other people created.

Most film nowadays are remakes or plots on films taken from other films. Another example of this is Ghost Ship - taken from the low budget film "Lost Voyage"

Should be interesting to see what they make with this already great storyline.

Yeah i have it, excellent film, - Japanese horror films somehow manage to get an atmosphere that the US or UK hasn't managed - though i did enjoy the remake of the Ring it wasn't the same class as the Japanese version
