going into this movie, i was a but skeptical about orlando's acting. he tends to favour period paices, and up until this movie, he has either had little dialoge, or has played a wuss, which suited him perfectly. but this role, was the lead, a serious, "strong and noble" role. he surprised me, his acting was actually decent. i found all the acting to be close to accurate, as with costumes. the sword fights, i thought anyways, were pretty cool. the use of blood, was not enough in some parts, adn over emphasized in others. and in the main siege, there is one small part, where it seems that the frames repeat each other back to bagk, on purpose, or a mistake, i do not know, it looks a little odd.
one thing that is a drawback is the fact that unless you know the basic point of the crusades, and a little but of its history, KOH may be a bit confusing. as for the soundtrack, alot of it suited the theame and tone, except for the love scene, i dont know what the composer was thinking there, cause that was wierd, everyone in the theater started laighing at that point, but other that a few of those flaws, i give this movie a 7.4/10

which means..that scene where we see 100,000 or so soldiers marching off..then we cut to them all dead...we didnt even see them die..the great battle.

i thought it would have been cool to see all the soldiers confined into a small area (because of the hills)..be like putting 2000 gladiators in a colacium (2000 would just about fill the pit)

I saw the movie, and was impressed by the scope of the entire things, and you won't see many better treatments of epic medieval stories.

It had some fine performances, and orlando Bloom certainly provied he was skilled enough to carry a film with so many big names in it.

This film, like some epics, just couldn't take enough time to develop the characters fully, so that you care a little more about them. I would have liked to see a little more time taken with some key aspects of Balian. Luckily, we learn enough about him from others.

Nice touches in the film, overall with detail.

Oh, and about the "great battle" I think it was already well inferred that it wasn't so much a battle as a slaughter. They are not going to devote film time to scenes of cutting down exhausted men in blazing sun. That's a bit bloodthirsty, if I may say so.

This movie was alright, the only problem was that it was too long and became a burden to wait for the end.
