So neo's mind has been transfered into a machine of some sort at the end?
When it shows the images of "how the machine's see" i guess....the orange colored shots in the machine world...well, in these shots it appears as though everything that is a bright light is a machine.
all the little one's by his feet, the one's who come floating at him, and of course the main guy, du beax whatever.
so when neo's frying corpse is being dragged and put on that pedastool, the gfx shot in orange shows tremendous light beaming from neo's area. So is this implying that his conciousness has been implated into a machine?
..we know it IS POSSIBLE, since the machine smith did it on baine's or whoevers human body....isnt that weird???
and about the main post here; good theories, but smith only became so powerfull after neo jumped into him, rewriting his programming, thus SMITH has become NEO's opposite. balance the equation remember? always has to balance. so as said many times here, after smith kills neo, the equation becomes unbalanced, so bye bye smith no purpose for you to be around.

the matrix was designed in the height of human civilization, the year 1999, after all...it was a disaster when the machines tried to image it after a human paradise, we didnt accept the programming.
