Latino Review has an interview with Ray Romano. Here's the scoop:

Ice Age 2 was announced quickly after the original film shocked forecasters and broke the $50 million mark opening weekend. Then progress slowed, but now Ray Romano tells us the script is ready and they're working out the deals. "There's a script and they're negotiating and I think it's going to happen," Romano said. "That's what they tell me."

The first film ended with the ice age nearly over, so what will the trio of winter creatures face this time? "I read the script a couple months ago. What happens now is I think they're worried about everything melting. I think it starts out where they have to flee because they're about to get flooded."

Romano was particularly excited about one character development. "I know Manny gets a girlfriend in it, my character. This is how sad I am, I'm excited about that. You know how you get, when you're in a film and you're going to have a boyfriend or a girlfriend, a little bit of excitement. I'm excited about my animated character having one. I wonder if I'll get a crush on her or something. She's not even going to be in the studio."
