Oscar nods for Johnny and.....we hope

He should get another nod (and the statue) for this outing as well. Jack Sparrow is a most unique character in cinematic history. That the actor playing him would not get the Oscar is, well not that unusal, but just dawgone wrong! I am also hoping that Kevin McNally will get nominated for best supporting actor. Mr. Gibbs certainly carries a large part of the story on his shoulders, and does it well. The story is richer for his character being there. Okay, here is the start of my Oscar rant. Anyone care to join me? Sure, he really deserved the first nomination, and I freakin' hated Mystic River, so I also think he should have won, but because this was just a sequel, I don't think it was really original enough to get nominated again. And they choose the winner by their performance in a certain film... not any of their previous ones.
