I recently watched the movie and thought it kicked ass!! But I really felt that the movie could of done with out the whole jungle Indian thing. I mean what was the point.

If it was just so that we know about the tribe when they come out later on in the movie... If so, who cares!! Its an Island and theres indians, thats it.

Well the reason they were there was during the scene with the storm Capt. Jack told Gibbs to stear towards any island they found first and thats how they ended up there. Plus it was a plot device for Jack and Will to meet again.

C'mon... the whole scence was just not nesessary!!! They really could of simplified there meeting again just like they did when Jack reunited with Elizabeth. I think they just wanted another action sequence, and that one carried on.

i agree....dont get me wrong...i liked pirates. But that scene was like a bad soap opera. Where something happens, and once its over, its never mentioned again and the next adventure starts. Oh well, it doesnt ruin the movie for me, but i do see his point.

It was a good scene but it could have been done without.

It is acknowledged that there is a huge canon of literature in the world, and one person cannot possibly ruin it.

Thats cool that that is what you think. But please understand that you can argue your point your whole life and some people will still think that the scene, or anything else that you disagree with, did not take away from the story and can move on.

That island scene was a waste of time. It was meant for little kids to giggle at. Just get to the beef of the movie...no fillers please.

I liked it. Sure it really didn't do much for the story but it was still a cool scene that had some pretty funny moments.

I liked the scene. I do suppose that it could have been done without it though, but I liked it. The movie was a little confusing and not so good in the beggining but the island scene really helped pick up the pace.

"I realised I can't shut myself away or crack up. It could be me next, couldn't it? But if it is, I'll make sure I take as many Death Eaters with me as I can and Voldemort too, if I can manage it."

"You said to us once before," said Hermione quietly, "that there was time to turn back if we wanted to. We've had time, haven't we?"
"We're with you whatever happens", said Ron.

Well I think that scene was brilliant! Every second was hilarious and we cant have the whole film on a ship we need variety! It also added background to how jack gets into the situations he gets into beacause you hear about the infamous tales of captain jack but don't get to see much of them in the films. Thus the scene was great.

I think I know why it was added. The dog

I know you are going to laugh at that but the dog is basically the thing in the story that shows you whats realy going on with the character of Jack. Because he is such an enigma. They just added in something that just shows you whats really going on plain and simple.

If Jack showed his emotions it would be very out of character and it would ruin his character..the dog mirrors what Jack does later on in the story and it shows you why he abandoned his friends and why he goes back to the pearl etc.

I wont say too much but after the credits it basically shows you that Jack has made a huge change in his life...for a certain someone.

The chief/island tribe scenes were gifts to us faithful fans. After all, remember in the first movie where Jack is saying"and then they made me their chief." as Liz is falling into the water? It was another version of how Jack made it off the island when he was marooned there by Barboosa.
So, they showed us what really happens when Jack is made chief. And Jack's character has really cartoonish moments, such as his tipping over and his fall down the cliff. After which he is running for his life from the tribe.
And the best gift of all "this is the day that you will always remember as the day....(wave drenches Jack and drowns out a couple of words)..... Captain Jack Sparrow.
Not necessary for the story line, but a lot of fun. Especially the seasoning!

WOW!!!

THANK GOD YOU WERE HERE TO TELL ME HOW TO THINK!

I almost had indepentant thought there for a few horrifying moments!

Seriously kid, people will always think different about things than you.

Stop whining, grow up and accept it or carry on getting in to arguments over nothing.

I liked the scene, you didn't.

Firstly, the Island scenes were the most funny out of the entire film!

Secondly, there is a reason for going there which is explained in the DVD commentaries, check out my post "Dvd commentaries reveal!"

it sets up jacks betrayl to will later on in the movie... Will is willing (lol) to risk his life to save jack but later jack freely gives will's life to davy jones. It also shows that Jacks only option is to face Davy Jones. He tried getting off the water, and look where he ended up, on a cannabal island. thats the point to the jungle scene when i first watched to movie i thought it was pointless with a few more viewings on dvd i understood.
