In real life, no way would I prefer bad boys over good! But it doesn't mean that there aren't certain endearing qualities in the bad ones. Women like bad boys with soft spots, with good hearts, etc. Or a good boy with a toughness. Savvy? For the sake of the movie, though let's see...
Jack's just freaking hotter I guess lol. And he's got the spunky personality. He's more entertaining and can definitely keep a girl's attention. Will's loyal, decent, gentlemanly, and all those good things, but he's just so dang serious all the time. He doesn't really loosen up. And eh, he's not as hot as Jack. I guess I got a thing for that grungy, messy look of Jack.
I rant. I ramble.
I babble and I vent.
I can grumble or can spew,
and then my day is spent.

I guess I see Liz with Will rather than Jack because she seems a little uptight and serious herself. I see Jack with more of a (excuse the expression) wench type of woman (no offense, just using a term from those days). If they did get together, I don't see it lasting (although Whitney and Bobby are still at it...hmmm). |

But what did we learn in the beginning of the first Pirates film? She finds the pirate life fascinating. So if anything, her structured upbringing kinda forces her to be uptight, even though we all know that she still longs for freedom and still has a thing for Pirates. She wasn't afraid when Jack first threatened her. Heck, she was seemingly thrilled to suggest that even Will himself had become a "pirate" at the end of the first movie. That girl is VERY intrigued with Pirates. As far as the type of girl I see Jack with...well, I dunno since he's had such a variety of women. *shrug* But I do think he likes the idea of someone thinking positively of him for once, as Liz has done, even though she still screwed him over.
This is interesting, though: Liz likes to think of Will as a pirate, and likes to think of Jack as a good man. NOW look what she's gotten herself into!

I plan to rent POTC 1 to check it out again. Don't remember Liz to well from the first film. So maybe she is like the "Catholic school girl" who wants to break out of her sheltered environment and take a walk on the wild side. But where did she learn to use a sword (as we saw in the 2nd movie)? Was she that good in the first film, I don't remember. |

Hey, you know what they say, Once you go Jack, you never go back...But if she's a part of high society, where did she learn to use a sword (as we saw in the 2nd movie)? Was she that good in the first film, I don't remember.
Maybe I've got the tagline for the third film...once you go Jack, you'll always go back! |

qstorm said: Just to egg you guys on a bit...seems like Will is the braver and more honorable of the two. Jack on the other hand, seems a bit of a coward (until the very end...that seemed out of character for him). Speaking for us good guys, doesn't that count for anything?
Plos, do you really want a guy who wears more eyeliner than you? Not that there's anything wrong with that... Will's definitely the most honorable and would literally go the distance for his girl. A definite good guy and yes, that does count. I guess girls can at times be more impressed with a bad guy who forces himself to do something good, since it IS out of said bad guy's character, rather than the good guys who are always doing something good. I'd be lying if I didn't say that there aren't girls out there who want to be that thing in a bad guys life that "tames" him. That whole hero complex. Like Beauty and the Beast. He's so bad, but she ends up awakening the good in him. So many of us females are (unfortunately) lured into the that fact of being the one thing that will stir the goodness in a man, which is more difficult to do if the man's the "beast."
Not that I condone being with bad guys, of course, since there's no guarantee that he'll ever find it in himself to be good, but still. Just offering some female perspective. I'll even admit that I can at times be more fascinated with a bad guy who goes against everything he stands for just to be good, than a good guy who is always good because it's all he knows. Does that mean I'd always go for the bad guys? NO WAY! As I said, there's no guarantee that he'll be good and unselfish and honorable and whatever else. I'd rather KNOW a guy will be good to me than to HOPE he will.
So in the end, it's the good guys who win. Jean Grey said it best. "Girls flirt with the dangerous guy, Logan. They don't take him home. They marry the good guy."
Oh and as far as a guy with more eye liner than me, usually the answer is no, but if he's Jack Sparrow, then yes lol.
