200918590-zac-efron-wants
-to-be-marty-mcfly

Sounds like tabloid fluff, but tis the season of the fluffiest critter of all, The Easter Bunny, so lets run this rather preposterous bit of groundless gossip

According to Teen Hollywood, Zac Efron, the newly departed star of the Footloose remake (he tells Entertainment Tonight, I'm sure Footloose would have been a huge challenge, but the actors that I love and the actors that work really hard in this industry are always shaking things up, trying new genres, acquiring new skill sets. That's what's always going to appeal to me: the unknown.") may want to **** with another classic instead.

The 21-year-old star of the kinda-sorta-time-travelin
g film 17 Again reportedly said hed like to play Marty McFly in a fourth Back to the Future film.

Funnily enough, the sites the one suggesting he wants to star in a third sequel to the 1985 hit, all that Efron says is "Growing up, my favourite thing to do was to climb into the car and play Back To the Future. I would pretend I was Marty McFly."

If Efron did say something to the tune of Yeah bro, put me in Back to the Future 4 Ill dance on the Clock Tower! and I hope he didnt; surely hes got enough smarts to know not to touch Back to the Future?! and I really hope he didnt, we could all be in trouble. Like, diseased fat woman on skinny shy guy trouble.

I doubt Efron came out and said I wanna do Back to the Future 4 but deep down, he could be thinking it.

Why?

Check out this.

The guy owns a MFing Delorean! Now what the hell would you spend your coin on such a car these days if youre not a huge fan of the Back to the Future series!?

Just by running this bit Im a little scared someone from Universals going to pop a light bulb and develop such a thing. And with Efron being the it boy of the moment, wouldnt surprise me at all if he was cast in the role made famous by Michael J.Fox. Execs seem to be that stupid at the moment.

But would the film be a continuation of Robert Zemeckiss original trilogy? Or would it be a complete reboot? With Hollywoods woody for remaking everything at the moment, wouldnt at all be surprised if the idea of a remake has already been floated. And when it does, youll hear me scream, thump something (or someone), and turn Huey Lewis up to 11 just to block it all out. ****, let it all be the writers fantasy

Thankfully, none of those involved in the original Back to the Future trilogy have any plans to do a fourth film. As far as the cast and crew are concerned, the series ended when Doc Brown and his beloved Clara blasted off in their time-travelling loco

Yeah. Well, he ALSO wants to be a good actor, but I don't see that happening anytime soon either.

Why do I get this horrible feeling in the pit of my stomach that we may actually GET a reboot or something of the classic film "Back to the Future"? It's happening to every other classic 80s movie, from "Footloose" to "A Nightmare on Elm Street", so a new "Back to the Future" film, unfortunately, wouldn't surprise me at this point. Hollywood is too busy remaking classic old movies that they're forgetting to make new, original films. Ugh.

The only way I'd cough up $9 a ticket to see Zac Efron as Marty McFly is if he's run over by his own DeLorean.

Or better yet, tie Efron to the train tracks, get Christopher Lloyd back in the film in cameo form as Doctor Emmett L. Brown and get Mary Steenbergen back as Clara too, stick them both in Doc's locomotive time machine from "Back to the Future, Part III", and then have them run Efron over with the train.

"What did I tell you, Clara?!? I hit 'im at ... EIGHTY-EIGHT MILES PER HOUR!!! "

Hopefully, this is some tabloid rag that took some quote of his way out of context, causing "Yeah, I'm a fan of the movie, but it's not like I want to be Marty McFly..." to "I want to be the next Marty McFly!!!" Or at least I hope so. Oh god I hope so.

I'd actually be ok with Efron taking the role, more so than the other young actors in holly wood.

However, most defiantly, I would prefer that they do not touch the film at all and leave it as a classic staple in time travel television.

WOW...

Here I thought I was going to lead a violent, bloody revolution against the politicians of this country almost immediately.

I was wrong.

First I must kill this Braff idiot and anyone in Hollywood that is involved and excited for a pointless remake.

I'm looking at you Will Smith and your talent-less son!

Careful man.

Of course, *I* know that you're not serious, but you know that there's always going to be that ONE idiot out there who would think that you're LITERALLY making death threats.

As far as Zack Effron is concerned, this guy needs to LEAVE the world of movies and stick to what he's good at ... singing.

If he wants to continue his inept gay rampage through the world of theater, I suggest that he take on a role on Broadway.
