Anticipation Level:
How excited (or not) I am to see this movie...
I've seen the movie several times in Berlin, February 11 and 12, 2004.
The first time I watched it I was blown away by the end of the movie. The last couple of scenes have so much power, great music and awesome acting performances (actually the whole movie does). What'd you expect from me? Robin is in it, so there's no way I won't like it. But this movie has much more than just Robin. He's surrounded by all these beautiful and smart people who really bring this movie to life. For example, the camera work is absolutely fantastic with all the strange, unusual shots and amazing close ups. The music by Brian Tyler is one of the best scores I've heard, and I heard quite a lot of them. The acting was amazing -- of course Robin was once again surrounded by these great actors. Just to name a few: Mira Sorvino, Thom Bishops, Jim Caviezel, Stephanie Romanov and Mimi Kuzyk. They all deliver an awesome and flawless performance. I have to mention Omar Naim here too, he's an amazing director and I'm curious about what he's gonna do next.

The ending was great and I had to think a little longer what I should think about the rest of the movie. Of course I liked it, but I didn't now how much, till I watched the movie for the 2nd, 3rd and 4th time. It's an absolutely awesome movie and it got better and better everytime I watched it.
The camerawork is amazing, the directing from Omar is perfect and the acting performances (especially Robin and Thom Bishops) are the best of their carreer.
I can't help it, but I have to compare this movie with One Hour Photo. Compared to that movie, this one is more thrilling and I think a lot more accessible for a lot of people. The great thing about Robin is that in this movie he gives the other actors the opportunity to shine.

The movie is not as technical as it may seem, it's more character based which makes it much more interesting. The genre says it's science fiction, but when you watch the movie it'll occur it plays in the present time but the technology is taken from the future. This makes is defenitely more realistic and once again much more interesting.

A bit more about Robins performance since this is a fansite for/about him. What'd you expect me to say? Robins performance was awesome? Well, that's exactly what I think of Robin in this movie. He was awesome! He looked very fit, even though he gets beaten up quite a lot in this movie. Some scenes are very funny, but Robin never pushes it over the edge and he lets other actors get their laugh by giving only a look. To compare Robins performance with One Hour Photo: In One Hour Photo his performance is absolutely fantastic, but compared to this performance....boy, Robin just keeps surprising me!

I've read several reviews that were negative about everything they could be negative about. "They" say Omar is a bad director and writer, Robin was robotic and the set decoration didn't fit in.
Well, I think Omar did a great job, Robins performance was even better than in One Hour Photo (and I thought Robins best performance was in One Hour Photo), the set decoration is very human and warm and the music by Brian Tyler is absolutly fantastic.
Ok, one thing in the script/story may be doubtful, but I don't think that makes this movie instantly as bad as other critics say.
Does a movie have to be perfect to be good? I don't think so. One of the most important things for me in this or any other movie is that I completely understood each character and I understood why they did things the way they did it.

I could write down much more about the movie, but then I'll repeat what Robin, Mira and Omar said in the Berlin press conference. I only like to add that you should not listen or believe the reviews that are (very) negative. I read only negative reviews so far and they're all based on nothing. Too bad, because this movie, the director and the whole cast and crew deserve a lot more than all the negative response they're receiving right now. I hope things will change when the movie gets its release in September.
