Peter Segal is directing with shooting starting in March. Village Roadshow is co-financing. Hathaway will play the role originated on the small screen by Barbara Feldon. Carell will play the Smart role originated by Don Adams. The film is produced by Mad Chance's Andrew Lazar and Mosaic Media Group's Charles Roven and Alex Gartner. I remember not one afternoon went by at 5:00pm (Australia) Get Smart would be on. I'd sit down every day and watch it. I just hope the movie keeps the same style/structure. Not sure if it will be set in modern times, or perhaps back in the day as the original one was. Casting choice has been okay. I can see Carrell and Hathoway as Smart and 99. Although Carrell is damn funny at times, I hope he doesn't go too goofy. Smart was funny/slapstick, but he always thought he was doing everything perfectly fine, while everyone else around him was going, "what are you on, man?"... especially the Chief.
