February 18, 2004 — Mackenzie Phillips (One Day at a Time, So Weird) has joined the cast of The Jacket. The film will be directed by John Maybury, and was written by Massy Tadjedin.

The plot revolves around a soldier convicted of murder who, during his treatment in a psychiatric hospital, begins to believe that he is traveling through time. Through his time travel, he searches for a woman he met as a child and is fated to love.

The film stars Adrien Brody and Keira Knightley, Kris Kristofferson, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Kelly Lynch and Brad Renfro.
