This film is one of a long line of early-to-late Medieval period films, so up to now, which has been your favorite?

1. Becket (1964)

Just a really good film about a period in history that few people know much about. Outstanding performances.

2. The War Lord (1965)

Very cool battle scenes, so-so story

3. Henry V (1989)

Branagh's screen version is a worthy successor to the much more strident Olivier version.

It's really been pretty dry for "good" films. There are tons of really really bad ones...maybe we'll have to do a thread about those, too. LOL

Not really Medieval, but Elizabeth, with Cate Blanchett was a great film...

Now I hear they are going to make an Elizabeth sequel of her later life.
