This film has already been tagged as an "epic love-story", with a good-sized budget.
However, most epics have not done well recently. (exception- LOTR)
What do you think?
Is the underperformance of epic movies a trend? A certainty? what are the factors you think have added to colossal epic failures like The Alamo and Alexander?
Here are a few of mine:
1. Knowledge of the epic time period/history is spotty owing to lack of education in classics
2. Young audiences (tromorrow's movie-goers) are video trained to focus on the action aspects, not the human aspects.
but what do you think?
