March 10, 2004 — Noam Murro will no longer direct The Ring 2, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The commercial director, who was supposed to make his feature film directing debut, left the production after five months of development because of what is being described as "creative differences" between him and DreamWorks.

"This is a mutual parting based on two creative differences," DreamWorks co-head Walter Parkes said. "Noam Murro is an extraordinarily gifted director, and we intend without hesitation to try to work with him in the future."
