November 6, 2003 — Variety reports that Naomi Watts will be back for the sequel to DreamWorks' horror blockbuster "The Ring".
Commercial director Noam Murro will head up "The Ring 2," based on the successful Japanese horror franchise. Murro caught the attention of studio executives with his dark "Got Milk?" ad, which closely resembled the tone of "The Ring."
In the first movie, Watts played a journalist who discovers an unusual videotape that causes the death of anyone that watches it.
The sequel's plot remains a secret -- scripts are only available on decoder paper -- but David Dorfman has been recruited to return as Watts' son.
